Privacy policy
How Unplanned & Co. collects, uses and protects information from business owners who visit our site, apply for an audit or work with us. The short version: we collect what you give us to set up your audit, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Unplanned & Co. is the business name of Ryan Bernal, a sole proprietor based in Houston, Texas ("Unplanned & Co.", "we", "us"). We build and run websites, online booking, ads and business apps for home service companies. This policy covers this website, our application form, our demo catalog, our Meta (Facebook and Instagram) lead forms, and the emails, calls and texts that follow.
What we collect
What you give us. When you apply for a Growth Audit or fill out a lead form, we collect:
- Contact details: name, mobile number, email, and the best way and time to reach you.
- Business details: your trade, yearly revenue range, average job size, where your customers come from, whether you can take more work, your biggest bottleneck, your ad budget range, your timeline and your current website.
- Your choices: whether you agreed to texts, and which program you applied for.
- Anything you tell us on a call, by email or by text.
Unfinished applications. If you type your email on the last step of the application and then close it or leave the page without sending, we save the answers you entered so far. We use them only to reach out once, personally, about your application. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
What we collect automatically. The page you came from, ad campaign tags in the link (for example utm_source), and basic technical data that our hosting and service providers log, such as IP address, browser type and time of visit. If our Meta Pixel is turned on, Meta may record that you visited our pages and submitted a form, using cookies or similar technology.
What we do not collect. We do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank or card numbers, health information or other sensitive personal data on this website. Card payments for our services go through Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
How we use it
- To review your application, decide if we are a fit, and contact you to set up your call.
- To send a confirmation email (and a text, only if you agreed) and, if you qualify, prepare a written Growth Plan for you to read.
- To prepare for and hold your audit call, send proposals and agreements, and deliver the work if you become a client.
- To send invoices and receipts and keep business and tax records.
- To see which ads and pages bring applications, in total, so we spend our ad budget well.
- To keep our website and forms secure and to follow the law.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Text messages
We text you only if you check the text box or ask us to. Texts are about your application and call: confirmations, scheduling and replies. Usually 1 to 4 messages per request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop at any time, or HELP for help. Agreeing to texts is never required to apply.
We do not share, sell, rent or transfer your mobile number, SMS opt-in or consent to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the text-message provider that delivers our messages.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed for them to do that work for us:
- Google (form storage in Google Sheets, email, calendar booking, documents)
- Meta (ads and lead forms on Facebook and Instagram)
- Our text-message provider (for example Twilio)
- Stripe (payments and invoices)
- GitHub (website hosting)
- Esri and Google Maps (the address demo on our home page; addresses you type there are sent to them to show suggestions and a map, and we do not save them)
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone's safety, or as part of selling or transferring the business, in which case this policy keeps applying to your information.
Cookies and tracking
Our website does not set its own advertising cookies. Services we use may set their own: Google Fonts and Google Maps when pages load, and the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics when they are turned on. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and limit ad tracking in your Facebook and Google ad settings. Our site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
How long we keep it
- Applications that do not become clients: up to 24 months, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Unfinished applications: up to 12 months.
- Client records, contracts and invoices: as long as you are a client and up to 7 years after, for tax and legal records.
- Text-message consent and opt-out records: as long as needed to prove consent and honor opt-outs.
How we protect it
We use established providers with encrypted connections (HTTPS) and limit who can see your information to the people doing the work. No method of sending or storing data is 100% secure, so we cannot promise perfect security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Ask to see the personal information we have about you, and get a copy.
- Ask us to correct it or delete it.
- Stop texts (reply STOP) or emails (reply "unsubscribe" or use the link in the email).
- Opt out of any future sale of personal data or targeted advertising, if those ever apply.
To make a request, contact us through the form on our home page (type "privacy" in any answer), or reply to any email or text we send you. We answer within 10 business days. We may need to confirm it is really you before we act. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If we deny a request, you can ask us to look at it again by replying to our answer. Texas residents may also contact the Texas Attorney General.
Children
Our services are for business owners. Our forms are not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Where your information is kept
We are based in the United States and our providers store data in the United States and other countries where they operate. By using our site from outside the United States, you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
Other websites
Our demo catalog and links lead to other pages, including demo websites for made-up companies. Those demo sites have their own privacy pages. Sites we do not run have their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top. If a change is important, we will also tell clients and applicants we are working with by email.
